Green Asparagus with Parma Ham
This is a delicious low-carb side dish, which is very easy to make and ready within 20 minutes. The salty taste of the Parma ham goes perfectly with the slightly sweet taste of the green asparagus. In addition, the dish has a luxurious appearance. This makes it perfect to serve as a side dish. One serving contains only 3.3 g of carbohydrates, hence fit for anyone following a strict low-carbohydrate or keto diet.

- 400 gr Green asparagus
- 100 gr Prosciutto di Parma (Parma ham)
- 40 gr Grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- lemon juice to taste
Preheat the convection oven to 200 degrees and linea baking tray with a sheet of parchment paper. Clean the asparagus with a little water and cut away the hard ends.
Then cut the slices of Parma ham in half. Sprinkle the slices of Parma ham with a little grated parmesan cheese. Then wrap a slice of Parma ham with parmesan cheese tightly around one asparagus and repeat until all the asparagus has a slice of ham.
Then place the asparagus on the baking tray and sprinkle with the remaining grated parmesan cheese and drizzle with the olive oil. Finally, season the asparagus with a little salt and pepper.
Bake the asparagus in the preheated oven for 8-10minutes. The asparagus is done if they bend slightly when picked up. After baking, divide asparagus into 4 portions and serve with a balsamic sauce if desired. Enjoy your meal!
