Asian Steak Strips with Snow Peas
This is an Asian low-carbohydrate main course. The recipe is very sumptuous and easy to make. It can be prepared with real steak or with beef strips. It is recommended that you pay close attention to the baking time if you are using beef strips, which can quickly become very tough if fried for too long. This recipe can be served as a main dish with protein-rich rice or cauliflower rice. I hope you will enjoy the steak strips with snow peas.
- 450 gr steak or beef strips
- 225 gr snow peas
- 200 gr mushrooms
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice wine
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger root
- 1 – 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- salt and pepper to taste
Cut the mushrooms into slices and the garlic and ginger on a cutting board. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar and cornstarch.
Heat the olive oil in a large wok pan. Add the sliced ginger and garlic and fry for a minute. Then add the steak strips and fry it for 2minutes. Then add the snow peas and mushrooms and stir fry for another 3-5minutes.
Finally, add the soy sauce mixture to the pan and bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Now reduce the heat slightly and let it simmer until the sauce is thick. Serve the dish with low-carb rice or noodles.
