Low-carbohydrate Garlic Bun
Garlic bread is always a good idea for a tasty side dish! The traditional garlic bread made from French bread or pizza dough is very delicious, but regrettably not suitable for eating if you follow a low-carbohydrate diet. In our recipe today, we used our low-carb pizza crust to make a tasty sandwich. The sand is then covered with garlic butter and Parmesan cheese. The outcome is a yummy sandwich that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Hope you will enjoy it!
- 115 gr Grated mozzarella
- 20 gr Full-fat cream cheese
- 55 gr Almond flour
- 1 medium egg
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- pinch of salt
Topping
- 25 gr Parmesan cheese or mozzarella
- 20 gr butter
- 2 cloves of garlic, finely crushed
- handful of parsley
- handful of grated mozzarella
Turn on the oven to 200 degrees. Place the grated mozzarella and cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave the bowl with the cheese for 30 seconds.
Remove the bowl from the microwave, stir with a spatula, and put it in the microwave for another 20 seconds so that the cheese has melted well.
Add almond flour, salt, and baking powder to the bowl and mix with a spatula. Then add the egg and knead well through the dough with your hands.
After kneading, place the dough between two sheets of baking paper and roll the dough with a rolling pin to the desired shape and thickness.
You make the garlic topping by melting the butter ina small saucepan. Meanwhile, finely chop the parsley on a cutting board. Then, in a bowl, combine the melted butter, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley and garlic.
Spoon the garlic topping onto the dough with a spoon and bake the dough in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
