After the success of our previous 100 km challenge, a new opportunity arrived at our doorstep: The 2020 Steptember Challenge. Made possible by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, the Steptember Challenge is a challenge to walk 10.000 steps every day. This is to raise money to benefit people affected by Cerebral Palsy.
Cerebral palsy is a physical disability that affects movement and posture. This caused by abnormal brain development, often before birth. Symptoms of Cerebral palsy include exaggerated reflexes, floppy or rigid limbs and involuntary motions. This makes the things we take for granted, such a walking, much harder.
As a running organisation with such a strong focus on being able to walk, run, explore, this cause is of course something very close to our heart. So, we want to contribute to this cause and make the lives of people affected by better in any we can. Cerebral palsy is a disability from birth, even a small improvement of quality of life can have a compound impact.
That’s why we think the Palsy Alliance is a great cause to step for. Starting today, our teams are going to raise money, and spread the word about this cause! We’ll hopefully have some fun while doing so, cause being fit, active is a privilege to be mindful of! Happy steps, and good luck!
